The Moment That Started It All
For a long time, loving anime felt like something people expected you to grow out of or at least keep quiet about.
Years ago, I had a friend at work who also liked anime. They were quite a bit older than me, and while we both enjoyed it, they didn’t want anyone else at work to know. They worried people wouldn’t take them seriously or that they’d make fun of them for it.
So they asked me not to talk about anime at work, and honestly, I felt bad for them - because I’ve always been the complete opposite.
Hi, I'm Jodie (or Jodes)
I’m the designer and illustrator behind Blood & Blossom, and I’ve loved art and design for as long as I can remember.
The stories I love are a huge part of who I am. My house is decorated with manga panels, art prints, and figures because I see the things we surround ourselves with as an extension of our personality.
I’ve always dreamed of running my own independent shop, and I was massively inspired by tattoo artists and the way they turn meaningful imagery into artwork people carry with them every day.
That idea stuck with me: creating art that represents something personal to the person who owns it.
Why I Created This Brand
That moment with my friend stayed with me because I realised there are a lot of people who feel the same way they did.
People who love anime, gaming, or fantasy stories but know that expressing it too openly can bring unwanted conversations or judgment from those who don’t understand. Blood & Blossom stickers and prints let you show your personality in a way that’s low-key, tasteful and beautiful to anyone, but instantly recognisable to the fans who share your passions.
At the same time, a lot of fandom merch out there can be very loud or heavily character-focused. Great for conventions and collections but not always something you’d want on your work laptop, planner, or Kindle.
When I started looking for merch that felt more subtle and design focused, I realised there wasn’t much out there.
So I decided to create it myself.
Blood & Blossom is where I design prints, stickers, and stationery inspired by the iconic objects, symbols, and details from the stories fans love. The kind of pieces where another fan might notice your sticker or planner and go,
"Wait… is that from that series?"
Recognisable to fans, but still stylish enough to live in your everyday spaces.
A Small Artist-Run Shop
Everything you see in the shop is designed and illustrated by me, and I run every part of Blood & Blossom myself. From sketching and designing to packing and shipping your orders.
I believe art should be an expression of individuality and creativity, which is why I focus on creating designs that are bold, intricate, and colourful while still feeling intentional and thoughtfully designed.
